"CARRY ON UP THE RHONNDA"
RAVE REVIEWS FROM THE FIRST SHOW AT USK ON SATURDAY 19TH APRIL 2008
The first of two showings of Carry on Up The Rhonnda took place at Usk Memorial Hall on Saturday evening. The start of the show was delayed by 15 minutes to allow the audience to get in and take their seats.

A full house thoroughly enjoyed a night of "Cabaret Style Entertainment" and were still eating and drinking away well after the show had finished !!
One gentlemen stated that he has been "going to shows in Usk for 33 years now - and this one was the best he had ever seen" There can be no finer endorsement than that of a complete neutral - and many thanks for those comments !!
The knock on effect was amazing. News of the first show spread and within a couple of days Little Mill was well on the way to a bumper crowd.
Saturday 26th April saw Little Mill Village Hall host the show and it went down equally well.
Again there was a 15 minute delay to the start but once the audience were settled in the show began with avengance.
Little did we know at the start of the show but we were to have a few heroes during the night. Julian Burton (Braving the Big Bird for the second time in successive weeks) sustained a nasty injury. He actually carried on the last part of that act in great pain but did it for the show.
He couldnt take up his part as T Birdie in Grease and so prompt and stage hand for the show Nick Jones stepped in at the very last minute to take the part. He did extremely well in the circumstances and delivered the part as though he had been rehearsing for weeks.
Julian did manage to hobble onto the stage for the "Diabolical Drama" song - and I know he has gone to A & E today (Sun 27th) Will keep you posted as to how he got on !!
Local resident Wilf Clibery said "He enjoyed every minute" of the show. Others commented an how good it was with one local admitting - "It was worth making the effort to come along and see."
The cast took advantage of a few hours after show fun and enjoyed a bit of a party.
Well done all - roll on the next one.
